Good day to all, I am Suvarnarekha Deodhar founder, pioneer, designer of Silk Route and I am extremely delighted to present before you my passion and pursuit.

Where

This journey has an interesting origin in my life where I had many sarees which meant a lot to me but were not in use. As I wanted to upcycle these sarees and make a few articles or accessories so that the saree would have a new life I started searching for a trustworthy lady who would bring a new meaning to my sarees. It was risky but the outcome was even more mesmerizing than I anticipated.

Eventually my friends and family also promoted and supported this venture and a foundation was laid which was later formed into an organised production setup.

I had specifically observed that many of our beautiful sarees are just stacking in the closet and we never utilise them or these sarees are only worn occasionally. Here being a creative mind I thought of giving a new life to the sarees by upcycling them into luxury and everyday use products.

On the occasion of Gudi Padwa in the year 2017 the brand Silk route was set up. The core values of this venture were to create a sustainable as well as a zero waste generating ecosystem where there would be absolutely no hatm caused to the environment. To support the local women we employed skilled ladies who would work for this venture.
